Horse riding

Horse riding is classified as a high risk sport and it is advisable to seek independent personal accident insurance if so desired, as the organiser cannot accept responsibility for injury, illness or damage beyond their control.


Deposit of £40.00 per person required on booking. Full balance must be paid 14 days prior to the trip to secure your booking.


Deposit of £100.00 per person required UK tours & £150.00 for trips abroad on booking. Balance one month before date of departure.

If you require a receipt, please send a stamped addressed envelope and we will return by next post.

Price based on twin, double or family rooms. Cost of flights not included in the price – unless stated.


If we receive notice of your cancellation more than 30 days before departure you will lose your deposit.

If we receive notice of your cancellation 30 days or fewer before departure you will lose 100% of the cost of your holiday.

There is no refunds on flights or empty saddles.

Please Note – People that pay for a full days riding and only manage a half day will forfeit all monies – the horse will still need to be transported back home.


Non-arrival will forfeit the whole amount. Make sure you & your group know your pick-up point and correct departure time as no refunds will be made.


As horse riding is an active sport; all participants should be fit and healthy, being able to get on your horse off the ground. Weight limit is 16 Stone (101.6Kgs) please ensure this is not exceeded as we are protecting the horses.
Any medical problems would be discussed with your Doctor before booking, in order to provide you with the best day possible.
Please inform the organiser of any disabilities that you have, so arrangements can be made to ensure a successful day.

From 2016, you will need to obtain YOUR OWN travel insurance when travelling on one of our abroad holidays.

These rides can involve fast paces and long days in the saddle so best suited for regular/fit riders who can canter in open spaces and riding minimum 4/5 hours per day.


All European rides are based on flight prices in English Pounds at the time of going to press, so these can change at any time. Please phone to check prices. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Individuals wishing to book their own flights should check dates and times with organiser before doing so, the organiser will not be responsible for missed connections/flights.

Tours may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions and are subject to booking numbers. We can not control the weather, Grouse shooting. Phone if in doubt.


Due to insurance restrictions, it is not possible to accept any child horse riding under the age of 7 years and if you are aged 65+ you will need to take out your own special insurance by phoning Columbus Direct Insurance on 0800 056 0809.


Reductions are unfortunately not available for day rides and some European holidays. A consent form must be signed for any of the trips if unaccompanied by a parent/guardian (day ride only) Children must be accompanied by parent/guardian abroad.
